Jennifer Lopez is teaming up with husband Marc Anthony for her new movie El Cantante.

The film tells the story of Puerto Rican superstar Hector Lavoe, his rise to fame, drug abuse and his relationship with his wife Puchi.

J-Lo said: "They had a very kind of rollercoaster relationship. It was very passionate and I believe there was a lot of love there.

"I felt it was my job playing Puchi to show her humanity and the love she had for him but at the same time be true to the story as she was."

The actress and singer also had a hand in producing the movie.

For their next project, the couple are planning a joint tour this autumn with shows in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

They plan to perform together and separately in both English and Spanish. The pair previously collaborated at the 2005 Grammy Awards.
