Red carpet poll - mixed reactions to ban
2.59, Mon Jul 2 2007
Our impromptu red-carpet survey on whether the smoking ban in England is a good or bad thing has brought mixed reactions from celebrities who took part. Eastenders actress Barbara Windsor said: "I think people should be allowed to go out and do what they want to do." Actor and writer, Stephen Fry was also against an outright ban. He said: "I can understand banning smoking in public places, but I think in private clubs, it is preposterous - a bad thing." But reformed smoker, Robson Green disagreed. "Its a great thing; nicotine is the most addictive substance known to man. I don't want my son to go into a building where people are smoking," said the Soldier, Soldier star. And singer Kelly Osbourne is looking forward for the ban to start. She said: "I'm so excited and can't wait to wake up in the morning and not have my hair smell of cigarettes." |
