Screen legend Sir Michael Caine has compiled a selection of his favourite chill-out tracks on a new album called Cained.

The Italian Job actor decided to take on a new career as a music mogul after dining with Sir Elton John at his mansion in the south of France.

The 74-year-old fancied himself as a music buff after discovering he could recall the name and date of every track the singer had playing in the background.

The Alfie star said: "I've loved this type of music for years, and have literally hundreds of CDs.

"I've been buying them for about 15 years, and really know my way around. About ten years ago I started making my own compilations. I've always been interested in music, and over the years have made literally thousands of tapes. And with chill-out I suppose I finally found my forte."

Cained - The album, which will feature artists such as Chicane and Nina Simone, will be released in September.
