Pete Doherty has launched himself into the headlines again with a very public appeal for Kate Moss to take him back.

The troubled rocker has appeared on the front page of a tabloid newspaper, making a desperate plea to his ex-girlfriend to forgive him after they split a few weeks ago.

The 33-year-old supermodel dumped the Babyshambles frontman, after he allegedly cheated on her with a South African model.

But heartbroken Pete, 28, has opted for a bizarre way to woo back his scorned lover - choosing to air the couple's dirty laundry in public, rather than taking a more low-key approach.

In one breath Doherty declares his undying love for the British beauty saying: "I love her with all my heart. I like the way she walks and talks. I love her bones. I love her brain, " but in the other he accuses her of being "nasty" and bad tempered.

Pete also declares that Kate is the only girl for him but goes on to admit that he has asked a Parisian artist called Christine to marry him in November, in what he says was a "rash gesture".

The rocker insists featuring his story in a national newspaper was the only way to reach out to Kate, after she threw him out of her north London home and changed her phone number.

But many would say the Daily Mirror was a strange choice to give an exclusive interview to, as it is the same newspaper that exposed Kate's cocaine abuse in 2005.

Although the singer cannot get hold of Kate it seems Moss is still in touch with him. Pete claims that the model rang him a few days ago, leaving a drunken message of herself singing romantic classic Moon River, on his answerphone.

Well one thing's for sure, Pete will have definitely caught Kate's attention with his front-page splash, it just remains to be seen whether she will take him up on his offer to rekindle their turbulent romance.
